Our 12 Investor of the Year contestants are off and running. They've picked their 10 stocks, invested their virtual $10,000 and are poring over the financial papers in feverish anticipation. The winner is simply the one who makes the most money from her virtual portfolio over the next 12 months.

Cathryn is MD of the European Office of the CBoT, responsible for all Business Development activities in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining CBoT, Cathryn was a consultant to various derivatives companies in the US, Asia and Europe with Ecco Consulting. Prior to that, she was the MD for The Australian Derivatives Exchange (ADX), based in Sydney. In 1998-2001 she was voted in the ‘Top 40 Financiers under 40’ in Australian Business magazine, and in 1999 was awarded Australian ‘Most Outstanding Woman of the Year in a Non-traditional Area of Work’. Glenda Stone – CEO Aurora – London

Glenda is founder and CEO of Aurora, which provides women-focused corporate HR and marketing services to over 100 blue-chip clients globally. She also chairs the 25,000 member Aurora Businesswomen’s Network, where she brings together experience as a business angel, entrepreneur, manager, government policy maker, curriculum developer and teacher. She is a director of four companies, and a board member of ‘Womankind International’. Glenda has won awards including BusinessWeek’s ‘Business Vision Award; Pioneer of the Nation by HM the Queen; and European Businesswoman of the Year.
